Securing the Sanctuary
Many Ministries Have Asked Us: How Do We Prevent Church Violence?

Senseless and tragic violence at houses of worship have become almost commonplace.  Violence is at our doorstep — it happened at Keystone Fellowship Church just outside of Philadelphia, it happened at Emmanuel AME Church in Charleston and it happened at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Gilbert, Arizona. The Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh also experienced violence, and so did Sutherland Springs Church in Texas, and Burnette Chapel Church of Christ in the southeast Nashville neighborhood of Antioch ... and the list is growing.

August 19: Abundant Living in Rancho Cucamonga

August 21: Campus Bible in Fresno

August 23: Faith Fellowship, San Leandro

9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

We all have an obligation to ensure our communities have a safe and inviting place to worship.

Back by popular demand, this annual, ONE DAY training event is a must for ministries that have no safety and security program, are just starting one, or for those that want to brush up on the basics of providing a safe place of worship.

Bring your Pastor, administrators, and safety and security volunteers and teams as we cover how to create an open and inviting ministry that offers distraction-free worship and keeps your congregation safer. Topics will include:

  • Handling child predators in ministry & schools

  • Preparing for domestic violence spillover

  • Volunteer safety & security operations

  • Assessing church safety and security readiness

  • Active shooter preparation

Join us from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at one of the following locations for a full day of training*:

  • August 19 - Abundant Living Church, Rancho Cucamonga

  • August 21 - Campus Bible, 4710 N. Maple Ave., Fresno, CA 93726

  • August 23 - Faith Fellowship, 577 Manor Blvd, San Leandro, CA 94579

* Registration includes boxed lunch and beverages.

Also, for some statistics on violence in ministry, just take a look at Carl Chinn's website dedicated to tracking deadly force in ministry. Summer is a good time to brush up on training; the risk for violence increases as we heat up during the summer months.

Note: We make every effort to adhere to the listed locations, presenters, and schedules and we reserve the right to make last-minute changes to the program.
