Alex Brown

Director, Marketing Communications

In 2015 Alex answered a calling to spread the word about ministry risk mitigation. Sounds odd, right? It may very well be, but when you get a phone call while attending church to come work for an agency that serves the Church, you say "yes!" to the opportunity.

As a result, he's found himself working with ministries in California, Nevada, and Arizona to better educate their teams on protecting all parts of their ministry.

Alex is our marketing communications strategist, engagement, and branding fanatic (Charlie Cutler refers to him as the agency's evangelist). That means he’s constantly working to strengthen the relationship between ChurchWest Insurance and our clients through ministry-focused education and services. As a part of that effort, he’s working on improving our inbound and content marketing as well as our customer engagement strategies - and their implementation. He's also taken the lead on orchestrating our customer-facing events, making sure they run smoothly and provide great educational value to our attendees.

Alex has over 10 years of experience in marketing content creation, branding, and digital strategy.  As a marketing communications and content specialist in the high tech and industrial automation industries, Alex has been a part of the marketing and user support teams at SAP America in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania and ESRI in Redlands, California. Never one to settle for the status quo, he honed his marketing skills working with RB Marketing Communications, which is just a hop, skip, and jump away from the ChurchWest offices in Redlands, California.

Alex is a graduate of California State University, Stanislaus and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English.

At home he and his wife Julia are parents to three amazing daughters – Nina, Hannah, and Violet.

When not working on spreading the word on California church and ministry insurance, Alex likes spend time with his family; he also offers his skills and time to small, non-profit organizations looking to improve their digital presence. He also enjoys rolling up his sleeves and working on community improvement projects.
